A new crowd simulation system was unveiled at the Royal
Society. In conjunction with the Royal Society Michael Faraday
Lecture, this year awarded to Professor Ian Stewart (Warwick
University) for his work in communicating mathematical ideas to
the widest possible range of audiences. Keith Still
demonstrated the LEGION system which can simulate crowds of up
to 250,000. Keith is a mature student of Professor Stewarts and
is working on his PhD thesis on simulating crowd dynamics.
